The Login Server is Down

Posted by SpearDriver in , ,

Ok, you could be excused if you didn't know that. After all, if you're one of the herd of twitchy, nervous reprobate Eurotrash teenagers playing this game, you just got home from school. I'm so glad I'm not one of those types. I'm also glad I know to check the load-o-meter website whenever an apparent problem comes up. Today you get to see this!

That tailing off effect on the server load is because there is a natural disconnection rate from the servers. If the login server goes down for any length of time, the population in the game goes to Zero Percent in a few hours. Zero Percent is a very small number of satisfied customers!

So what is everyone going to do while we wait? I mean, besides spamming the forum or the IRC channel. A few of us in the IRC channel actually figured it out.

The French will go for a coffee and a cigarette, and the Germans will wonder what Mama is making for dinner, while the Dutch will simply go do some drugs.

The Romanians will probably call their little-brother wannabe lawyer, or go play Aion on a private server (which is where most of them already are anyway).

The Tuga, Spanish and Italians will be watching Champions League tonight, so they shouldn't be a problem. While the Brits are in their own timezone and they are already an hour late, but will probably catch up in the complaining polls because there are actually a fair number of them still playing the game. Not clever enough to setup a private server for Aion, I guess.

Did I miss anyone important?

All in fun of course, but seriously, I'm sure this will be the last straw for even more people.

I just got a beta key for Loong, from Gamigo. I'll probably spend the weekend on it.
