The semi-finals of the World Cup start tonight and some places call that the Round of 4, because only 4 teams are left. Tonight the Netherlands will play Uruguay for a spot in the championship match, and both xenawarrior and [Yui] placed original bets on the Netherlands. We know who they will be cheering for!

Tomorrow night Germany plays Spain for their chance at a spot in the Championship match and the retired 9D player Hoppelhase and [_Charming_] from our league selected Germany, while AinTua from the Restless League took Spain as his re-entry pick. He was the only one to take a re-entry pick, by the way. I was a little surprised by that.

Either way, I expect both games will be fun to watch but it's not quite a do-or-die situation. The losers of the next two games will play again for the third place spot, this weekend on Saturday. The championship game will be played on Sunday night.

At stake in our league pool are 56 Blood Essences, and wouldn't that be quite the nice little prize for a single winner like AinTua? Not that I'm expecting Spain will beat Germany!

As I said in the original post, if more than one player picks the winner, the prize pool will be shared equally. Wouldn't it be funny if Uruguay won the big prize? Nobody picked that team even from the beginning. If that happens, the player(s) who picked the 2nd place team will share the prize pool.

Aintua from the Restless League has already picked up 56 Blood Essence from me, and he wants to thank you, for each and every one of them. What I find interesting is that he was the only player to "re-enter" the pool with a second bet, but he walked away with the big prize. This is just good betting strategy and it's why I offered it.
