The Mobs that “Break”

Posted by RedCross in

That’s probably not very clear to a new player, but anyone who has played for a while knows that there is at least one mob per map that “breaks” into a new and more powerful form. This can be instant death to the players who aren’t aware of it.

The first “mob that breaks” that Black Clan players can meet are the Mad Blindmen in areas 8, 11, 12, 13, and 17 on the Shi Zhang map below. The first form of the Mad Blindmen is level 35, so you might be tempted to move there after the bears in area 7 get just a bit too easy. Don’t do it.

A Mad Blindman doesn’t do too much damage, but when you kill him, he “breaks” into a level 40 Broken Blind Madman that does an awful lot of damage and causes bleeding for even more damage, even when you’re running away from them. These guys are never in a good mood and have even been known to chase players who are using LightFoot to run away. From area 8, I have seen Broken Blind Madmen chase players over the bridge and in to the bears in area 7. To be safe, just keep running.

You will have to face them sooner or later though. These mobs drop two colors of cloth that you will need for two of the Wan Daye elixir trades, and the Monstrous Blind Madmen (level 48) in area 17 drop the Dian Cang book that you need for the first elixir trade.

There are “Mobs that Break” on every map, and even in the Dungeons, so get used to the idea early.

Editors as always, fee free to add information about other maps, screen shots, or more.
