I like playing the Warrior role. It seems to suit my mentality because all you really have to do is go out and hit things. You don’t worry about much except to keep on eye on your hit point bar. That, and like every one else? Don’t grind where the bosses spawn.
When I was looking around for a role to play I came across some information about the Brotherhood of Thieves warriors. According to a few people these are the strongest of the warriors, simply because the spears they use do the most damage in the game. Now I have a pretty good collection of spears.
That doesn’t mean the warrior is necessarily the strongest character in the game. At this time they most certainly aren’t the strongest. For starters the warriors can’t heal themselves at all, except by meditating. That is a distinct disadvantage in the game, and it means that you simply have to wait until you are stronger before you can do some things, like CoF runs or go grinding in the Conqueror’s Cave.
I use a “high Dexterity” build on SpearDriver and I am loving it. The Dodge number on that character is unusually high and that allows me to grind him well, even in mobs that gang up on you. My first try with a character called SpearDance was a lot of work. That character has a very high Strength number and a high Defense number from that, but he still takes a lot of damage when facing more than one mob at a time. It was really frustrating at times.
I’ve now got the best Hit Point equipment I can get for SpearDriver and that is helping too. I just recently started using the Hit Point Return items too, and that is an even better effect. I”ll use the Halloween hat while I’ve got it, but then I’m going back to the HP return hat.
What role do you like? Maybe you could tell us in another post?
